Meg and Todd's Ideas
MTR- Our kitchen size and layout!! LIKES: the blue color; the white countertop on the island. DISLIKES: two many contrasting colors; concrete sink; open shelves around sink
TR - Similar L shaped kitchen/island. Like warm flooring and position of window/sink relative to DW. MTR - maybe the cook top on the island would be ok? Otherwise your back is to the great room the whole time. LIKES: the backsplash, but maybe muted grays instead of beiges; the stainless steel knobs and pulls; the cabinets, simple without being flat; still would like to have black/dark grey matte counters.
dining room lighting?
Island lighting
This is sort of what I am imagining! Maybe a different configuration of shelves/ drawers and hanging space, but as far as wall of closets, this is it!
Big bottom or center drawers on vanity instead of linen closet!
something like this for clean towels?
storage for linens?
Half wall for toilet privacy? shelving on top of vanity for linens?
Thoughts for ADU shower layout: zero threshold entrance on narrower side of rectangle (facing entrance to bathroom.); no door or swinging door?; 3/4 wall with glass on top facing toilet; and niches or shelving?
MTR - not a good picture angle, but like the shower head and on/off control separated
MTR - like the offset on/off fixture from the shower head
MTR floor tile, 1/2 walls = LIKES
NOT these colors, but likes: no threshold, half walls for privacy, on/off valve on a different wall then shower head
TR - I like the grey tile and shower fixtures. Not sure if a sliding glass door vs. swinging door works best in our layout?
TR - like the tile in the shower, built in shelf and seat. Not a fan of gold fixtures ;-)
TR: Like dark grey floor tile, with rich wood vanity and light grey walls as a color combo. Like glass shower but other fixtures are not my style.
Perhaps a good way to provide some screening of the toilet area from the entrance
I like the tower storage cabinet. Perhaps a good way to provide some screening of the toilet area from the entrance

The more light the better! but what is a tilt and turn window with screen on the outside? This is a great feature if done properly. Some things to consider: Choose a frosted-glass panel for privacy and preferably one that opens for fresh air. Next, ensure that there are stone jambs along the entire installation so that this area is watertight. Also, ensure that the sill gets sloped down and away for proper drainage. Lastly, I always specify a tilt-and-turn window in a shower, because the screen is located on the outside of the window; the handles are plastic, so they won’t rust; and the window provides full privacy even when tilted open
MTR- Like drawers in the bathroom vanity AND have found that the drawers we have in our rental kitchen are much more convenient then cupboards for dishes etc
MTR Yes to raised appliances, however would it be more cost effective and functional to make sure to buy the bottom drawer from the manufacturer that goes with the washer/dryer?
In the laundry room?? Could also use this space to fill a bucket, rinse mops, etc...
Using rocks like this to even out the elevation for the (stairless) pathway to the deck?
Something like this for the sloping grade from the AUX LR door (N side) to the elevated deck on Eastern side
Something like this for the sloping grade from the AUX LR door (N side) to the elevated deck on Eastern side
Although our view is a bit different, I like this as an approach from the aux structure's LR door out to the deck. Can this be done with no stairs?
Favorite by far!!
