Conover Remodel
this seems to make more sense than the last counter to ceiling cabinets, having some countertop in front of bottom cabinet. Breville would be the widest appliance to hide and it being 16 inches deep, that would seem to mean custom cabinets to accommodate that depth of the appliance (given some room for safety reasons inside the cabinet). I like this island a lot as well. Looks like great storage all around.
This could be a very cool look for the "bar" area we talked about on the current Fridge wall? I know that this farm look might conflict with what we have talked about but love the barn door look. Could hide the mini fridge and coffee machine on the sides but have a small sink and cool bar items that could be seen. Maybe a small ice maker below sink?
interesting cabinet concept with having outlets in the bottom of all and small appliances stored next to the power supply. Was wondering if we could hide the Breville with this setup. it is 16 inches from back to front of handle so standard 24 inch cabinets set on top of counter would work. Maybe this would be the range wall or do you need some counter space around the stove?
I like the style of this island. Kind of goes to the thought of flipping the kitchen to the left wall (as you enter from the foyer) and seeing this layout (fridge on the left with stove or sink and then island would contain the other appliances/fixtures). Still then thinking of opening up existing kitchen to the den / sunroom.
This is what we talked about a little bit about flipping the kitchen layout, especially if a little bit of the guest bathroom wall wanted to be taken away. This could be the view that one would see coming into the front door and walking down the foyer. Of course in this option, the sink counter would go down the guest bathroom wall, island middle of kitchen and current L of kitchen removed and opened. Fridge could be the first part of the guest bedroom wall, stove next to fridge and island would have the sink dish washer combo.
Cool pantry idea with the shelving units on the doors. i appreciate this use of space. I know that you lose a little with the depth of the shelves but cool feature. Like the idea of smaller storage areas above the main shelving units, instead of the dead space we have now of just wall sheet rock and molding.
love the clean look. industrial type of lighting. big island with seating. not opposed to having the sink and dishwasher in the island as long as there is enough prep space. Could be also a nice place to hide the breville toaster oven and microwave. We like the detailed trim work in the island. Wondering if concrete would be a cool option for a counter. We want to get back to a stove with a hood. Pot filler would be cool.
overall build. trim work around windows, beams in ceiling, can lighting. we understand that this kind of trim work would get a little pricey. Was trying to figure that we would have one window on the left wall as you exited the kitchen, set of doors to outside straight ahead, and maybe three windows on the backyard wall (with door). Then thinking that the wall far right would have to be solid given that this would be a shared wall with the mudroom/laundry.
If we were to close off the door from the dining room to den, could we have a built in bench/dining table to make the most of the room? Maybe take out the wall where the piano is?
