Kitchen dining living area
could suit our layout if dining table ran perpendicular to end of island. DB - I would need to see the layout on a drawing. See lucidchart.com TS Imagine, like the next photo, that the wall units are backing onto the living room (hot press and boiler are gone). Then the dining table is making an L-shape with the island.
Great light off the floor. Like the overall look and feel. DB - Just curious what exactly do you like about the look and feel as it defined as mid-century probably because of the chairs and table. TS Yeah, its probably mid-century cos of furtnture. But its very light, bright and inviting. The table feels welcoming to sit at maybe because of circular. But you'd need a very large space for that. I wouldn't really be going out to try and replicate this but it does feel light and homely yet smart.
Beams in the kitchen. DB - That's the industrial look. I think we need to go with a specific theme and then work what we have around that theme - but I am not so sure if that process is correct.. TS Yes, good idea to work out a theme. This is a good place to get a bit of terminology. BTW I hate the raised bit on the counter. I don't really like the overall look of this kitchen but just thought that it shows us that we can keep the beams and work with them.
