Gallagher Farm
smooth transition
Hey guys this planter shows a representation of what the driveway wall would look like.
Concrete driveway with curve lines we could incorporate the expansion joints to be integrated with grid on the plaza tieing in the design with the trees, entrance, dining courtyard patio and lines off the house. We have done this on other properties as well for expansion and design aesthetic. I think this could could be very nice and simple especially if we choose a concrete color for the drive that was a unique grey. Similar to the first photo I posted showing plain concrete with a custom expansion joint structure.
Driveway design notes This is a concrete drive with expansion joints and light broom finish. Looks nice could work with your front rural italian villa style in the front. I like this one aside from the curve becuase it shows a altenate brushed pattern on the driveway I have found to have subtle elegance when finished.
Modern farmhouse in new york with grey aggregate drive. compacted road based and thin layer creates a smother surface that is durable. Your current drive has a thick layer of aggregate wtih no base preperation underneath. This allows the aggregate to move under the car wheels. Less than ideal. This installation has weather four winters and was installed by one of my compatriates in the new your area. They made it sustainable by installing the compacted road base to a thickness of 10" progressively compacting. Then placing a thin layer of aggregate on the surface less than 1" they also use the pull behind tracker attachtment to remove snow when neccessary.
Exposed Aggregate concrete fnish also a potential for the look we are trying to create. Concrete will be easier to maintain in the winter. Thoughts?
Grass Drive with geogrid reinforcement. This poject was completed in 2016 and this photo was taken in 2018. If installed correctly grass drivway can be sustainable..
Modern farmhouse in texas concrete curbing instead of stone edge compacted base with native grantie 3/8" flake aggregate. On driveways like this a special drag behind accessory would be used in the winter that allows for snow removal.
Stone edging with compacted road base and thin aggregate fnish this aggregate is 3/4"-1.5" in size.
I like the stone. Color and pattern and size
