Kitchens
I like the cupboards around the stove
the floors and tile work
do like black window frames/accents
window wall that opens
like cabinets
like clean look
different accent walls
colors, raw wood, sink window, pass through
colors?
example of doors/windows opening into living space
kitchen to patio pass through
hearth/dining/kitchen flow and beams
example of muted color penny tile
I do like the "downtown loft feel" but how to still feel homey and soften it
example of raw wood beams with modern touches?
possible orientation for kitchen/hearth/separate living
Like simple cabinets, small knobs look better than larger handles.
Likes: white cabinets, different tones for counters, likes butcher block (maybe make full island butcher block)
Example of stone accent wall that we like
Ship lap example but maybe some color with penny tile on hood wall
Darcy likes beam to separate spaces
like barndoor for pantry and general simple style.
Possible example of cozy flow from kitchen into hearth room.
ship lap on bottom of island
Do really like the multiple wood beams, hood with bilateral floating shelves.
Darcy's separation b/w dining and kitchen
Lots of small stuff to like here. Small windows above doorways, unilateral floating shelves, faux-window with sink, stone accent wall instead of tile back splash? Plain ceiling but raw wood beam (and maybe pillars too?) to separate dining area. Plain ceiling may work since kitchen is more busy?
Darcy first impression, "pretty". Good example of open shelving, the pilars on extended island are nicely unassuming/"dainty".
Too white. Darker counters and lighter pulls help? Like idea of ship lap around hood with MINIMAL floating shelves on 1 or both sides.
Example of layout and separation of rooms. L-shape dining, kitchen, hearth. Maybe? hearth and great room share vaulted ceiling breaking kitchen from hearth slightly.
wooden counters in pantry
We like this kitchen/dining a lot. Love raw wood beams continuing throught the spaces but the division b/w kitchen and dining. Dining space is large enough to be true dining area with serving station. White cabinets and tile with dark counters.
Love: wood beams and wood paneling on island (but maybe not with hardwoods floors). Don't love: gray bottom cabinets (better white?), marble back splash.
