M: I like the overall aesthetic of this room. It's funny, because I'm not a huge fan of many of the individual pieces: the sofas, the stairs, the brass lights, none of them feel like exactly what I'd go for. But the overall feel of something open, a mixture between modern and old, the brightness and openness, resonates nicely.
D: shelving under stairs M: I quite like this style of shelving, and it feels like a good use of space. M again: I also like the way the wooden tone of the stair shelving, and the wooden floor, are so similar, effectively agreeing and merging with each other. That with the white background wall feels sleeker to me than painting the wooden shelves themselves white.
D: timber staircase, metallic pillar and beam in an accent colour, stairs rail. M: Interesting! Very different Scandinavian style. The 2-directional wooden slats as balusters are pretty cool. I'd hope we don't need a support beam like that in my house, but if it's needed I'd consider doing an accent colour like this.
D: Kitchen design, colours, wall cabinet, pendants, shelf. M: I like this colour scheme: dark navy tone + wooden, shelf and cupboard are good. I'd change the handles on the drawers. Not a fan of the parquet flooring either. The pendants are the hanging light fixtures? Not sure they're my style.
