Owl Design is an interior design company established in early 2012 by Simone Gordon and Sophie van Winden. We work primarily in the hospitality and residential sectors, our client’s ranging from private homeowner’s to high street brands.
We are a close-knit team of interior designers who are able to translate clients' ideas into successful projects, which work both aesthetically and practically. Our way of working is organic and eclectic with an injection of fun, using texture and colour to make spaces which invite and inspire. Humor is an important factor in our interiors, along with a bit of the unexpected. We deliver creative, yet accessible designs, by working collaboratively with each client so that every inch of a space is permeated with their personality. We deliver timeless, trend-transforming interiors with a harmonious balance between function and aesthetics and a distinctive personality.
We offer a range of interior design services, from early concept design, Flying Start, up to a full interior design package, Whole Hog.

The team at Owl Design did a fantastic job making our house look incredible. During the early planning stages they came up with really creative mood boards for all the rooms, based on only a rough brief and we were blown away. Then, they sourced wonderful items - everything from radiators and light switches to curtains and cushions - and managed the decorating and installation process brilliantly. They were a joy to work with and helped us achieve the house of our dreams. Would wholeheartedly recommend 100%!

We are a high end refurbishment company in South West London and we worked closely with Owl Design on one of their interior decorating and joinery projects in Wimbledon Village.
They were great to work with providing detailed specifications and drawings as well as always being available to answer questions and give helpful guidance to our on site team.

I hired Owl Design to manage the interior design for my flat in East London. It was a new build and it was therefore fairly neutral and bland. I had been living here for a couple of years and decided I wanted to make it my own but knew I would never do it myself. I found Owl Design online and was encouraged by the fact their site showed new builds in their portfolio - not all Kensington and Chelsea apartments! I effectively gave only three instructions/suggestions to Sophie "more storage, homely, coastal" and she managed to deliver a fantastic outcome out of that! The process was enjoyable as I got to be involved in approving the mood board, switching out a few items I didn't initially like etc. She then hired decorators and in one week they redid the whole flat, got the furniture delivered and installed. It absolutely met the three requirements I set out and it feels much more like home now. I was really impressed with what Sophie achieved.

I have already recommended Owl design to many friends as the work they have done on our kitchen has been fantastic.
I have really enjoyed working with Sophie from Iwl design and we are loving our new kitchen.
In their past I have been able to handle all our refurbishments but wanted to break from my usual: my favourite colours pale pink and mauve, and Designers Guild fabrics! So I hired Sophie van Winden of Owl Design. Her brief was to transform our large Edwardian dining room into a “modern Shaker design’ kitchen, to “stay away from pink.” And come up with “something happy.” ... and the result is perfect!
The process was also very easy. Original concepts were strong and on brief and yet Sophie allowed her ideas to develop as the project moved on and I came up with suggestions - she was very good at turning my ideas into even better suggestions.
She also had some great contacts and we founds some really lovely pieces.
Next is our attic conversion and I cannot wait to get Owl design involved again.

I hired Owl Design to design the master bedroom, hallway, my daughter’s bedroom and living room. After the first consultation and listening to what I was looking for, Sophie came up with some initial designs and mood boards. These included furniture choices, accessories and wall coverings. She did a very good job of choosing items, which fit my initial brief meaning the project moved along quickly and smoothly.
I found using Owl Design to design my home a really worthwhile experience as they clearly have an eye for how things will look together and suggested lovely pieces of furniture and accessories which I wouldn't have been brave enough to pick myself. They were a real pleasure to deal with, really understanding the look we were after and coming back quickly on all our queries no matter how small

Sophie worked with me on redecorating my loft. I felt like she really listened to the style and look i was going for, didn't push her own ideas onto me, more complemented and evolved the ideas that I had. She was open to feedback and would come back with something exactly to what I had asked. She met deadlines and budgets were clear and prompt and was able to offer a range of options to suit a range of budgets. She introduced me to a wealth of new suppliers and styles and encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone (we painted the whole room including the ceilings a dark green) sounds gross but it's amazing. I have had loads of compliments already - it's a hot post on my IG!

Have recently completed a bespoke furniture project for Simone and Sophie of Owl Design which included bespoke oak desks and an oak table. This is our second project that we have done with Owl and the project again ran smoothly over a two month period. The design drawings were provided by Owl and were accurate but also gave us some freedom in the construction and detailing. Simone visited us at our workshop about halfway through production and together we resolved a few details. Since then we have quoted on some fitted furniture for them and look forward to working with them in the future.
