What a great gesture from Tony Hawk for a friend! I love this remodel because I face the same issues in my home with a lack of natural light and lots of wood. I also thought about whitewashing in order to preserve the wood grain because I don't like to cover it with paint when it's decent quality. So it's great to see an excellent example of how the pros accomplished this. Thanks!

What a perfect transformation and blending of “already-owned very personal” decor with rustic yet contemporary style!! Tony Hawk’s heart is as big as his skating talent. How lucky they all are to have remained in each other’s lives after losing his dear friend, Ray! Just joyful!!

What a great story. It's a great human story and a great remodel story and really it's a great story for Houzz...legitimately great. There is something about the transformation and improvement of a living space that is transforming in a person's life. It all comes together in this story.

What made this renovation so powerful was Tony's heart for this family. I loved how he extended his words into action and honored his friend so well by blessing his family in a tangible way. Beuatiful execution which I'm sure will be enjoyed, but more than that, the love made real by "Uncle Tony." Kudos to all on the project.
