refinishing lacquered / laminate tabletop

We’ve had this Danetti table for almost two years and even though we tried to careful its looking pretty smashed up - it’s got a few chips and a lovely big gouge where someone seems to have had an accident with a pizza cutter...
How can I refinish it? I’m very tempted to try using concrete feather finish but if it goes wrong then we will immediately need a new table!
I’m not actually sure what it’s made of - is it lacquered, laminated or something else? - which is making googling tricky.
Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but this is most likely what it’s made from: https://www.danetti.com/blog/material-spotlight-hpl/ High pressure laminate or similar to Formica.

Thank you Rachel! I’ll continue the googling with that!

Personally I would treat it like a wood and fill any gouges or chips, lightly sand then apply a primer and then durable soft sheen paint.

Thanks - I might give that a go!
