Comments (11)OK then I think you might have to work asymmetrically. Instead of many cupboard doors, over your boiler, have one door placed over it with a push in push out system to open it. This will create a smooth "wall" - paint this and the wall above the brick area cream and the brick below grey.I would then change the cabinet on the other side so that you use cream with a grey counter and even grey shelves...Could this work better?More photos would certainly help? Where is your chalet?...See MoreNew sofa style
Comments (81)Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!...See MoreNeed help with accessible kitchen
Comments (8)My advice is to visit an independent kitchen showroom. Oftentimes they have access to more standard priced options than the big kitchen firms. Reduced height cabinets can be set at almost any height by wall hanging them, or changing the plinth height or having bespoke feet. Since standing is a challenge I presume you will also need to talk to them about pull out units (all of my crockery is in drawers which is much easier to access) you can also put fridges, ovens etc at any height making them easier to access. You might also look at different oven doors, some slide underneath or open to the side making access to the oven easier. You can get dishwashers the size of a single oven which might be easier to load and of course can be set at any height. If your overall strength is compromised you might choose bigger handles to open cabinets. If you want over counter cabinets you might choose to have reduced depth base cabinets to improve access to the cabinets above. You can get extractors that work with a remote control which helps future proof your kitchen if at a later date you find yourself sitting more or unable to stand....See Morewould love to here your opinion
Comments (16)Personally, I would rather not have the space between ceiling and tall units - would take units right up to ceiling. Something just doesn't sit right with me with regard to spacing- in particular the very small space to the left of the hob. Like others I feel there are too many colours and would have had the island in a grey - but I love the colours of the walls. I like the shelf - but not pushed in the corner like that!! One of the first things that caught my eye was the different colours of door and window frames in the house- I would have kept them all the same.... Not going to mention the stools!!!! I love the rounded units and would have opted to have rounded edges on the island to be in keeping, personally. Finally, this all sounds rather picky but we all know it is down to personal taste and overall it looks very nice. THANK YOU for allowing us all to put our two pennith in and our would be designer hats on..... I love these articles and it does give us food for thought!...See MoreOlena Tkach
