Need help for my living room colour scheme!
Comments (9)Is the chandelier thing seeming a bit small for the room or is it just me? Given that your walls are plain, the sofa is plain how about a patterned rug? Do you like Persian rugs? I find that dark green wainscotting too heavy and would paint it a lighter color. Given you have just moved in I assume you are planning to be there a while. If you like traditional style do you want a fairly safe color scheme re walls and curtains, keeping future resale in mind. Or are u happy to decorate according to your tastes? The mirror seems a bit small to me....See Moreneed help with my living room
Comments (37)Hello CG, you can buy some of these and try them on site. From the pictures you posted I get the feeling you have 2 colors with similar saturation both fighting for attention. It's a little too much. I would keep the green but go softer on the red (i.e rust). You can also let yourself be inspired by the grey/silver/bordeaux floral and stripe pillows to create a brand new color scheme using these colors instead. For example, a very soft gray on the walls, gray carpet, grey/bordeaux combo in the curtains and for the sofa accents, pillows similar to these 2. It's decision time. Go for what speaks to you, but do it with elegance :-)...See MoreNeed help matching new living room blinds to our furniture
Comments (5)Thanks so much Studio M Interior Design! I feel much happier with my decision to go with those blinds after your lovely feedback :) I think a blue rug sounds lovely and I could keep it small. I also need to buy a very small nest of tables and some cushions, any suggestions on colours very welcome! All the best Evelyn...See Moreliving room inspiration
Comments (0)Hi there, I recently moved into a new house and am searching for inspiration for how to decorate my new living room. It has a cast iron tiled fire place from 1880 which will stay. It has high ceilings with picture rail detail. It is south facing and sunny but we plan to mainly use the room in the evenings as a grown up retreat from the chaos of family life. It also needs to accommodate the tv and storage for lots of books! We will probably keep the carpet which is light colored and neutral but everything else can be new, paint curtains, sofa, furniture. It’s a blank canvas apart from the fireplace. I would like a fairly contemporary style rather than traditional but I am not sure how that will work with the old fireplace. Would love to hear some ideas! Thank you!...See MoreUser
