Redesign my bathroom
Comments (5)Hi there, We're in Kilkenny and we're lighting designers. A lot depends on budget but if you are re-fitting areas we could recommend fittings for the walls plus how about highlighting the top of wall with a good bathroom uplighter around edge - LED perhaps. The issue is that it is too flat as the colours are similar. If you added more depths of light it would help greatly. Of course we do a full range of bathroom fittings too so even a simple thing like two well chosen wall lights would help significantly. Comments (80)A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years....See MoreCompact Bathroom Design Help
Comments (6)It small But your cabin sink unit is a good idea as you have storage space and it looks neat. I have changed my bath many times to shower unit and it has leaked every time, some times it has been the plumbers fault or bad design then it was a visitor who let the water spill while showering the last time it flooded the insurers wanted the bathroom TANKED! meaning waterproof walls and floors. This is done by an experienced plumber contractor of repute! as the insurers said too many claims from too many people with bad waterproofing. the insurer said they would not insure again or any other clients who had not got their bathroom water proofed by expert plumber fitters. SO I have gone back to the Bath with a shower enclosed and found it tops for waterproof....See MoreRear south facing extension design dilemma
Comments (0)We are adding a rear single story extension to our semi detached 3 bed house, the rear of the house is south facing so lots of natural light, our current design is for a pitched roof with Velux in the roof and triangular windows on the back wall. Has anyone encountered blinding shafts of light through these upper windows? At the moment we notice in autumn / winter / early spring when the sun is lower we have to put the blinds down at the back of the house. The blinds for triangular windows I find ugly and dust magnets, but our architect thinks I am mad to remove them from the plans Many thanks for all advice...See MoreTani H-S
