hi need help with my interiors of my big living room,

It’s Squarish in shape, at the moment I have temporarily put my two living rooms items , I don’t want to get rid of any of my furniture, need idea on it’s placement, want to add feature to my walls, eg, cladding, mirror, sideboard, small aquarium, huge photo frame just for an idea to all.
Above the tv unit is my projector space so will be White.

Hi, maybe something like this will work? Had to guess dimensions, so they might be off.

I like Carolina's suggestion, that way you have a choice of 'cosy' space but can easily swivel the chairs if you have more guests.

I would rethink the lighting too (yes I'm biased!) but something less distracting will help give better balance to the room.

"Feature walls" have had their day, but every room needs an anchor point, so something like a huge mirror or piece of artwork is lovely.

That wall paper doesn't go at all.. and you don't need wallpapers.. how about a cream shade on the fireplace part of wall with oxblood coloured (from your curtain flowers) horizontal band below mantel, while the rest of the walls be lilac? Ever considered stoenwork similar to your fireplace on that wall? Also lower the hung photographs.. should be at least four inches below the windows' top edge.. Your sofas are quite dark. they seem aubergine.. is there any way you can at least place one of the sofas across from a window so that light falls on it? right now it is in the shadows backed against the windows, therefore more dark (does it seem so when you're in the room too?) The mirror (though nice) is too solid and thick for the mantel. can it go on a clearer stretch of some wall? fourth wall? What is the fourth wall like? idk how the fourth wall is like but how about angling large sofa at 90 degrees to the window with the single seater also angled in the corner where the lamp is.. and place the side table with lamp infront of the window (i-e at the corner of the 'L' made by t he sofas).. If possible get lighter lamp shades (cream).. Love the cushions.. place two of these cushions on the single seater to relieve the large sofa.. Please turn the rug lengthwise along the length of the sofa.. get a glass/metal table (if tots allow) or cream ottomon as center table.. The TV is too large for the rack, no? The vase is being wasted under the tv.. Florals and stripes can be mixed depending on print.. but if you bring anymore florals in this room, it would be best to match the flower shape to those in the curtains. I find the curtains too short...

Seeing it as an almost whole, I do think now that I like the soft, patterned curtain for the room. It could become overly severe, and that would be enough to stop that happening. Second thought, you don't need a side table for the sectional, but you do need something there to hold a lamp -- silver or glass would probably be best. The stand could be very plain, a box shape, even, in the same finish as the wood you already have. I liked these from wayfair.com -- though I might change the shades on a couple of them. Not that they're bad. The last one is an alternative approach if you fancy a bit of colour a-poppin'.

I've been thinking of you,Fragle - I remember those sleepless nights when the babies first came home and everyone was sleep deprived but life-as -always still had to go on, esp for Mommy. So happy for you that you have a 'good' baby, I love the name too:-)

Thrift shops rule! You can pick up the practical stuff---tables, chairs, chests of drawers, and even upholstered items---and make them your own with chalk paint and slipcovers. Sometimes you can find attractive art. Lamps are also super cheap at such places as the Salvation Army, and you can paint those, too. Chalk paint can be used indoors, as it requires no messy sanding and has essentially no smell. I think you'll also want a rug and curtains. If I were you, I'd use the greater part of my budget on a good rug or two that I could keep forever. Lots of people make their own drapes out of drop cloths, but Ikea curtains are a pretty cheap option. Good luck. You're going to have fun decorating your new place.
