Comments (15)We just painted a color called "Latte" over the dark red walls in our place and we keep thinking that someone left the light on! It adds that much light to the place as the red was just sucking out any light in the place. Find a color you like more for that wall and repaint...and/or maybe add a ceramic tile backsplash? Comments (6)A large area rug, an end table in between the two chairs with a lamp on it. The two niches on either side of the fireplace could use a console table or cupboard of sorts with some items on them like lamps or greenery. I would also set up something inside of the fireplace opening such as a rack with birch wood or a cool iron multi candle holder. Bring in some color, greenery, lighting. Comments (1)A medium color floor is easier to keep looking clean than a dark or light floor. For an open floor plan, I would choose planks. One of the main features in the design of an open floor plan is to draw the eye through the space. A herringbone pattern would be confusing to the eye.
