Comments (4)shelly12345...not sure if you have completed your fireplace/room, just saw this post while looking for help with my own family room. I think would paint the fireplace and mirror white...would match the trim work of your room and your lighter furnishings. Something that was suggested to me...use some fabric or poster board to cover the wood on both, just to give you an idea of what it would look like white. That way you are not committed once the paint has been applied to the wood. I love Dytectur's idea of wallpapering the room and having the fireplace wall white. Would really pop! Good luck and post pictures if your finished or when you finish....See MoreNew mirror
Comments (15)I think the large mirror covering the whole wall will be too big with the tv right there. I am into the antlers but I don't think they relate to anything else in the room other than the fireplace itself. I think your best bet is a simple round mirror. I know you've been shopping locally - if you are open to online, overstock has a big selection. Here is one that incorporates some gold and silver so it picks up your chandelier but is still pretty simple. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Raymond-Round-Mirror/8403155/product.html?refccid=2CDPCEBNTZLJLASNJPTJVEOR7M&searchidx=14...See MoreI need to paint .... no sure how to use a. dark colour here
Comments (3)Brighten the dining with a chandelier over the table and a new rug in the right size. It should be 4' wider and longer than your table top to allow for chair scoot and sit space without the chairs falling off the rug. Change out your red for yellow to add a pop of brightness. Will the mirror above the piano fit on the wall left of it so the new chandelier can be doubled for more brightness?...See Morewould love to here your opinion
Comments (16)Personally, I would rather not have the space between ceiling and tall units - would take units right up to ceiling. Something just doesn't sit right with me with regard to spacing- in particular the very small space to the left of the hob. Like others I feel there are too many colours and would have had the island in a grey - but I love the colours of the walls. I like the shelf - but not pushed in the corner like that!! One of the first things that caught my eye was the different colours of door and window frames in the house- I would have kept them all the same.... Not going to mention the stools!!!! I love the rounded units and would have opted to have rounded edges on the island to be in keeping, personally. Finally, this all sounds rather picky but we all know it is down to personal taste and overall it looks very nice. THANK YOU for allowing us all to put our two pennith in and our would be designer hats on..... I love these articles and it does give us food for thought!...See MoreUser
