I have just moved into my new house and I want to paint the hall way. We're going to put down a dark wood floor and have white skirting. The stairs will have to be carpeted. Basically I was hoping to find a wall colour to match this charcoal sketch. Does it have to be some shade of yellow/mustard?
Take the sketch to a paint store and try a bunch of color cards. Take the best ones home to see how they look in the light of your home. Then just pick the one you like the best. No it doesn't have to be some shade of yellow/mustard. It could be a complementary color.
I would do some sort of gray/blue, something complimentary, not "matchy-matchy" especially with a dark wood floor, you don't want to make it so dark that the artwork doesn't stand out at all. Good luck!
