sitting room paint

hi all,
can i get some suggestions on what coolur paint/wallpaper to paint his wall to enhance my mirror? I really dont know what i was thinking of with the original wallapaer, and as u can see i am trying different wallpaper at the moment. i really dont know what i am at, im useless at this. my couch is black, curtains ourole and floor dark walnut so the room is dark and i would like to brighten it up. a silver paper to enhance mirror??

Silver would be too cold, It would be nice to bring in some warmth and contrast. I like this gold wallpaper from Hygge & West

Thanks motownmum. I really wish i could wait, however i desperatley need the storage i will get from the bookcases and couldn't live withe the flat packs layong around for 12mths. Also it will be much easier to paint them now, before the are assembled.

Try finding a curtain in green and purple. They are opposite on the color wheel and look fabulous together. I think it will add the vibrancy you seek. Go to Houzz photos and type in keywords purple and green curtains to see what I mean.
