I need help finishing my living room I think it looks cold and bare but my husband likes the simplicity of it. Can't afford new couches (though I'd love them) any ideas how I could make it more inviting? Thanks in advance
Have you considered creating wall art to bring connect the colors of the pillows and curtains? A DIY frame filled with family photos could really bring out color in the room.
Also, lamps are a great and simple way to add a color/theme to your home!
I would suggest you get some large, leafy green plants in large pots and put one on each side of the fireplace. You also might place a large mirror, framed in silvertone metal, on the wall next to the fireplace and behind the large plant I suggested. The green will bring color, life, and air into the room and will contrast with the dark furniture and the light neutral walls.
Thanks sheilaskb. What is your thinking about symmetry? My question is prompted by your suggestion to bring plant pots into each side of the fireplace. That's the only part of your suggestion that I'm wrestling with. Thanks for your suggestions!
