I am desperate to change the exterior of my bungalow.
I’m thinking of rendering and or wood boards or accents. My neighbours on either side both have white rendering so I’m happy to be a bit different but not outrageous.

Comments (9)I think the room could be much more elegant if you dry walled the end of the pony wall up to the ceiling which would give you a more centered fireplace which could then turn into a focal point with a proper mantel. Right now the set-up looks sort of busy and odd, especially with all the books in the built-in. If you chose to do that I would get rid of the bookcase. If you want to keep the current set up, beefing up the wood on the mantel as Scott Design suggested would be an inexpensive way to improve its appearance. Comments (9)I think the design of the exterior has real 70s integrity. A bit of paint is all you need. Replace the garage doors with floor to ceiling windows matching the aesthetic the current windows already have. You should check out Cocontest.com for architecture work, or you could try and find an interior architect (there are degree courses in interior architecture these days) I've seen loads of one plan's posts and it would definitely be worth having a chat with them. Comments (0)We have a very 1980s bungalow. We are looking to update the exterior but I’m at a loss as to what will look best. Really want to plaster over the brick. The windows and sliding door definitely date the property. Should we change the windows and door (maybe add a porch)? What style windows and doors? Modern windows and add on a brick porch or sash windows with Georgian style door? Or go contemporary with dark paint and maybe some sort of wooden feature? Sorry, not very technical with the terms!!
