I’m looking for some advice on renovating my single skin garage before I start speaking to contractors. My requirements are fairly straightforward, and fall well short of converting it into a habitable space. All I want to do is improve it to the point that it’s a better space for storage, and to be able to use it to house a battery for solar panels soon to be installed. So really, my main aims are to reduce temperature swings and keep out extreme heat / cold, and to reduce humidity in winter, as condensation sometimes forms on tools etc. causing rust.

Many pictures attached - from what I can tell, the outside of the garage looks mostly ok, I have no idea how old the roof is but it looks in ok shape? But the doors are in bad condition. So I’m wondering if a relatively cheap way to get what I want is:

- Replace the doors
- Stick down some rubber tiles on the floor (appears to be below DPM so gets damp in winter)
- Run a desiccant dehumidifier in winter

Am also open to insulation but am concerned about cost and losing space.

Very interested in thoughts and any alternatives to the above.
