For those who have completed a major renovation or built a home — I’d love to hear your experience.
Looking back, what do you wish you had understood, discussed or decided before the project started?
Not necessarily design details, but the bigger things — priorities, budget decisions, how you wanted to live, where to invest or compromise, disagreements between partners, or simply how you would approach all the decisions differently.
I work in interior design and I’m currently exploring what happens before the traditional design process begins — and whether better clarity at this stage could make the whole project easier.
I’m particularly interested in the things you only realised after going through the process yourself.
What would you do differently if you were starting again today?
