I like that option 2 opens the room up more, however the chairs feel awkward against the wall and the dining / living spaces do not feel defined. Option 1 nicely defines the space and the TV feels more comfortable, however the large sofa creates a hard edge that feels more like a block in the room. Perhaps in option 2 you can move the chairs to where the sofa is in option 1, so they define the space a little more, whilst not create the solid block?

Option 1 - it creates two zones

I‘m not keen on option 1 seeing the back of the sofa doesnt feel cosy or welcoming. I think you need to zone the spaces, easily done with a rug at least under the seating area. You could also try the sofa on the window wall (but with a gap behind), tv opposite the sofa and a single chair on the tv wall angled towards the sofa for conversation

Option 2 layout with option 1 tv placement, the armcahir will be placed on the window wall

Option 2 gets my vote! It feels cosier, keeps the walkway clear, and doesn't turn its back on the door as you walk in.

Before committing, try taping the sofa’s footprint on the floor with masking tape to test the flow. I also used the Beavom app to scan my room and preview furniture in 3D, which helped a lot. Just make sure to leave an 80–90cm path. Good luck!
