Hi all I’m currently looking to decorate my living room, I’ve been given some colour suggestions which I like but they also suggested painting the ceiling, skirting boards and doorframe/door.
For reference the colours I’m looking using in the living room are warmer neutral tones which will better match my furniture and pretty much all of the rooms are currently white (for now until I get to decorating them too), all wood work is also white.

So advice headed on the following

Door/doorframe -
I’m not sure how to manage the door and doorframe frame because the living room door is always open onto the hallway, I’m currently planning to keep the white walls in the hallway so it wouldn’t make sense with one door/door frame painted a colour when the rest of the doors are white and will stay so for the foreseeable future.

Skirting boards -
If I do keep the door and frame white what should I do about skirting boards? Would it look odd to have skirting boards a different colour to the rest of the woodwork

Ceiling - I hadn’t considered painting the ceiling it’s currently white (surprise!) the rooms don’t have high ceilings but again it’s been suggested that the ceiling might look better painted a lighter shade of the wall colour, how much of an impact do you think this makes. I know colour drenching is all the rage these days, and I definitely don’t think that would work in the room but how do you feel about white ceilings in a room with warmer neutral colours on the walls.

I’d love to hear any advice and opinions people have.
