So realistically what does the budget stretch to? An extension and refacing the house? Or a couple of pots by the front door?

Refacing, dormer window, but not expending me to the front, also since this is a long process to get permission for that. (Netherlands) a bit more than a few pots luckily! feeling of the look of the house is

You have a lot of space here. Instead of the pedestal sink, look for a nice vanity. You can change the mirror to something larger and more modern. As for the lights, you could have sconces or two pendants on each side of the mirror. I am assuming that the tile stays. Otherwise, you can pick any tile.

This one is a mystery ... The fact you have a need for three lounges and dining for eight suggests a large family living here - but the kitchen is not big enough for purpose if that's the case ( just my opinion !) do you need three lounges... is it a cultural thing - family lounge /ladies lounge / men's lounge? If not - I'd suggest you move the dining into the middle lounge and increase the kitchen space into the mid section that was formerly used for dining. If not then I'd suggest a re think of the kitchen layout - hobs tight in next to walls in corners aren't best practice ideally. And angled corner hobs are a bit 80's ! It looks like the drawing has been done 'ask asked' rather than 'as suggested ' ... again - that's just my opinion - but you were asking - so there it is !!

You could look into painting the front door, replacing or repainting the garage door to match and some window frame treatment and planting and lighting at the entrance.

The black trim Jonathan shows brings a neat home into a modern era, so if starting small that could be the place to start. Maybe some up/down lights between the windows and door? . Maybe a new door to really announce the entry? Some simple potted plantings, with a bit of a landscape remodel could all easily change how your home presents.

I thought the wide path leading to the front door created grandness and the pergola and planting over the path softened the house.
The zinc clad dormer and modern windows help pull the look into a more modern aesthetic
