I want to open up and extend the doors that currently have patio doors..I want to brick the left hand side up to use as tv wall and put the corner sofa on the opposite wall
We want to change the patio door to a bifold door that goes as far as long to the the left as possible but brick up where it starts continuing from the corner to put tv on wall the. Put corner sofa on opposite wall to open it up?
Minnies advice to check the sofa fits first is sound advice. You could also try it there for a while with the tv on a stand in front of the doors. The work you describe would probably come in around £15-20000 in the area I live, depending on the size/spec of the doors you choose. Good luck
Great idea re using existing steels..would that run pretty much along the length of that wall or could I add on the extra requirement? This is the result I’m wanting on that long wall but would need to relocate the opening from its current position over to the right so as the left hand wall can be used to place tv..corner sofa then to be placed opposite..this is an updated version of what the room looks like now version picture of front room as it is
I think you're saying you want to move the position of the doors so they are more central on the long wall, thus providing wall space on the left of the doors for a TV. Is that correct? I feel people may be a bit confused 🤔
Sarah L, that was my understanding too. My comments were mainly to test before you commit by trying the furniture as you would have it after the work is finished. My comment about reusing the steel and doors is based on a hunch that once an adequate space is provided for a TV on the new wall, the opening for new doors is going to be pretty similar to what is already there but in a different position. Sam, I would get a local builder or glazing company to come out and look at it. They’ll be able to advise better as they’ll see the whole situation whereas we only have an internal photo to work from.
