Why not consider a printed glass splashback in a marble or concrete effect? They are cheaper than marble and more hygienic and durable. :)

Looking at your colour scheme, I actually wouldn't introduce brown into the splashback just because you already have plenty of warm wood elements (the oak island, table, window sills, and cupboard details). I think adding brown tiles could make the space feel a bit busy.

I'd probably go with a simple glossy white or very light grey subway tile. It would tie in nicely with the white worktop, brighten the area around the sink, and let the beautiful marine blue cabinets remain the focal point. A light grey grout is also much easier to live with than white grout.

If your budget allows, a single sheet of glass or quartz splashback behind the sink would give a really clean, modern look and is probably the easiest option to wipe down. But if you're trying to keep costs sensible, good-quality ceramic or porcelain tiles can look just as nice when they're installed well.

One thing I'd avoid is trying to match the oak exactly with brown tiles. In my experience, it's really difficult to get the right shade, and if it's slightly off, it can look unintentional.

Just my opinion, but your kitchen already has a nice balance of colours. I'd keep the splashback fairly neutral and let the blue cabinets and oak features do the talking.
