I presume you will have a wooden handrail which is what people should use. Granted small children might not be able to reach it and therefore touch the glass. I have glass spindles and my son has glass up the side of his stairs and along the landing. If any finger marks are on the glass they are very easy to wipe off. There are fishscale cloths that you dampen and use to easily wipe marks off glass.
