New build needs colour and character!
I recently moved into a new build and the kitchen is not what I would choose but i won’t be replacing in the near future.
I need advise on how to add warmth to a kitchen with white cabinets and grey counter tops
It is south facing so very light and bright which doesn’t help when the walls are all pure white.
The photos shown are previous owners furniture so that can all change!

i agree with Flo it’s a great blank canvas. Other ideas, add decorative details to the island.
wooden chopping boards are great for warmth propped on the worktop. A rug under the table to zone it more, I like jute, sisal etc but you could add a patterned one. A roman blind at the window to block some of the neighbouring wall, I like relaxed romans for softness. Where they have a plant on the floor go larger and put in a woven basket.
If you go for a sideboard go for a round mirror above to break up the lines, Again would look for bar stools with a soft shape. Dining table wood.

Comments (9)I think the room could be much more elegant if you dry walled the end of the pony wall up to the ceiling which would give you a more centered fireplace which could then turn into a focal point with a proper mantel. Right now the set-up looks sort of busy and odd, especially with all the books in the built-in. If you chose to do that I would get rid of the bookcase. If you want to keep the current set up, beefing up the wood on the mantel as Scott Design suggested would be an inexpensive way to improve its appearance. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. Comments (81)Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. You could consider a bold backsplash that covers the whole wall behind the sink and around the hob. In these images you see the difference some accessories make. You could add some sheer curtains for softness, privacy and to remove glare. Art is always a good way to personalise the space too. Some of these images use grey on the walls which makes the counters l disappear a bit. I like warm pinks with grey too.
