It’s a lovely room, I think it would look nice with the walls painted a different colour or at least the wall behind the bed in something like farrow and ball skimming stone… like the first picture, or you could consider some panelling behind the bed which is a different colour to the rest of the room like the 2nd picture

The room looks lovely. I prefer the 1st image with the layered throws and extra cushions.

The curtains look blue on my screen? I’d pop to Dunelm and see if you can get some curtains with some shade of taupe in. Stripes would work if you want something subtle. I’m not suggesting these per se but some wood framed art might work?

Add black frames to the art on walls - or switch out the art for something in thin black frames. Switch out the lampshades for white/offwhite ones rather than grey. Switch out the single pillow for something with a little bit of pattern or a lot more texture - could do same with the throw on bed also if necessary, but I'd do those first changes first and then re-assess.

Agree that beige, or a linen tone, is going to be your saviour. Using this in your curtains, lampshades, cushions, throw and art will change the tone and may save you from a repaint.

I think your room looks lovely but if you feel that it’s a bit ‘cold and bland’ here are my suggestions. Is the ceiling light new? If so, how about changing the ‘heavy’ table lamps for two that compliment your ceiling light? I’ve included some below. The photos of rooms you like have black details so If you wanted to introduce this, here’s a couple of options black lighting options. I would replace the white bedspread/quilt with a warmer neutral colour. Swap your curtains for linen with some texture. And add botanical prints to your frames, possibly painting the frames black if you wanted to go down that route.

Okay, I took your great advice and have made some changes. I couldnt find striped curtains but i did get lovely textured boucle ones which seem to work better. I changed the lampshades to white ones. I got a cushion which is more heavily textured. I added a rug for more pattern. I tried painting the walls a neutral/beige, but I preferred the white and painted it back. I have actually found I prefer the bed without any throws as the white bedspread is so nice and bright.
