I’m a little unclear on the moodboard. Are you building a tv unit, changing the stairs and adding the room divider? What is the sideboard with light over? Are you suggesting the light or sideboard?

i like the overall look with some exceptions. I’m not keen on the blue and red. Perhaps a cream boucle sofa would work better?

i like the pendant with the bottom wall light but the pendant may be too long unless it’s over a table etc. What are the rooms dimensions as the sofa looks rather large and may block access from the front door and kitchen door? Are you chaning the carpet?

Regarding the lighting—I was referring to the fixture, not the sideboard. I’ve since removed it and replaced it with a standing lamp, which I’d like positioned above the side chair. For the other wall lights, I’d prefer them placed above the sofa to create a cozy ambiance.

I absolutely love the idea of a cream bouclé sofa, but with two young kids, I’ve gone for a more practical alternative. I hadn’t considered the ceiling height before—do you think shortening it would still give that wow factor? Or would it be better to go in a different direction altogether?

That sofa is nice, however I didn’t realise you had young kids, i should have asked as boucle may snag! What if you were to swap a velvet chair for a sofa in a stain resistant fabric? Loaf have a number but they are ££££, why not try Swyft Home? Some of their fabrics are stain resistant and they do a nice brick colour. I assume your kids are unlikely to sit on the chair (?) so could go boucle for that? The floor lamp is nice but that style takes up a lot of space. Once you’ve chosen everything cut out shapes to scale to see how they work on the floor plan
