I would say nay personally . I’m not keen on it between the door and window but also not sure with the decor (i think i remember your previous posts from years ago!).. Maybe add a few more photos of the whole space?

I don’t think you need panelling there, it will be over fussy. That sort of panelling looks better, say, on a media wall in a room with less furniture, not in a busy kitchen.

I think the full wall is too much, the line down the middle looks better. With a mirror or picture on top to further break it up (like with examples above), I think could look good

Decision made. No panelling. If there’s any other styling/decoration suggestions out there I’d love to hear them. I’m thinking some kind of green on the white/purple walls.

I might be wary of green, if you go light you might have a tonal clash. I might start with trying farrow and ball skimming stone.

My only thought at the moment is swap the shade on the table lamp for linen which will work nicely with your textures! I might also remove the tall picture on the shelf. Zara also have some nice textured placemats

It’s SS on the two walls in the family room - I could take it all round. I like the idea of a linen lamp. That might work for blinds too?

Excuse the mess in the conservatory- my daughter’s off to uni on Saturday and it’s become the collection point for all her stuff! She’s told me that the dance photos MUST be taken down!! Redecorating is one of my distraction techniques for when she goes. 🤣

A linen blind would work. If you wanted green maybe continue the dark olive for cushions and chairs? Pair the cushions with plain creamy/beige cushions to lighten the sofa. Cushions with some form of fringing for texture would work

I would go with a bold statement mural wallpaper on this wall! Either your own photograph that you can have made into wallpaper or a pre designed one. Whole wall definitely. Think about how you use the room and what you want it to make you feel like when you sit down at the table. And those around you. Peace, fun, bringing the nature indoors? Abstract, colourful, calm etc. Start with how you’d like to feel on what you see there xx
The wooden paneling is ok but I always think, anything textural tbh, is great looks wise often but practically is hard to keep clean, a dust attraction.

The wallpaper looks great! we have the grey wooden slats on our north facing bedroom wall to insulate and it is excellent stuff. you can actually use the AI and super impose it on your own wall too to see how it looks. we are wanting to do our chimney breast next, but still decide on the colour. We used Wall and Floors on line, much cheaper than B&Q and excellent quality.

I’ve often thought about wallpaper on that section but stumped as to what to do where the paper stops at the top but the wall continues iyswim🤔

I’m also in the ‘no’ camp for the wood slats, but can see why you went for it as the blank wall under the picture seems unbalanced.

It may be too much of a squeeze but have you thought of a console table? Acumen do some narrow ones and bespoke sizing.

Another thought is to change your chairs before you do the wall as that might influence your view on sizing of whatever you do - the black ones dominate, so the balance might totally change.

There’s no space for a console table there and I don’t want to move the table more towards the door to allow one.
I agree with you about the black chairs. Strangely, they didn’t seem so dominant when I had green chair covers on them but I removed them to start thinking about redecorating.

Even something that narrow wouldn’t work. Making space for it would push the table too close to the hall door. It can already feel like a bit of an abrupt stop as you enter from the hall. But thanks for thinking about it.
