Design Dilemma Bathrooms

shower door problem

Hi everyone,

We are finishing our bathroom and have a question about the shower. As you can see in the photos below, the shower is built into a niche with one solid wall on the side. The opening is not very wide, and my husband thinks water will splash out if we don’t close it somehow.

I really don’t want to use a shower curtain. What alternatives would you recommend for this type of layout?

If anyone has done something similar in a narrow niche shower, I would love to see examples or hear your advice.

Also if you have the money you might be able to get a contractor to come out and add a drain in the corner. Then they could redirect the water in the drain. Also if you could put a rectangular/square glass enclosure around the whole area it would look amazing!

Hi Becky I'm not sure what style you are looking for but try www.solidor.co.uk These are the best low maintenance front doors you can get with lots of options on colours, inside and out. We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful. We are currently renovating our kitchen. There are two small windows in the room - we would like to convert one into French doors to allow the kids to run in and out to the garden. For The other, we really like the idea of a full length window to frame the view of our garden. We would like this one to be non-opening so that the view is uninterrupted. The problem now is that we wouldn't have any opening windows in the room to allow for ventilation. Any ideas??

So am I correct in thinking you can enter your shower both on the left and right of your double sink, as in the design photo? And if this is the case, is the shower head in the middle of this area? If it is and your floor accommodates run off then splashes should not be a problem. Why don’t you wait till it’s finished and see what you think when you use it?

I don’t see a problem. If there is any water splashed out it’s contained and won‘t affect any furniture.

perhaps instead of a bath mat you need a duck board
