What F&B colour would you choose?

We are renovating this house and having an oak framed extension put on the side. We are replacing the windows on the original house and can't decide whether to have oak to match the extension (which will have a clear treatment) or to have painted accoya. The window company say that the painted accoya finish will last longer (approx 12 years as opposed to 8 for the oak) and this is tempting from a maintenance point of view. However if we do go down this route I can't decide what colour to choose for the windows. They have asked us to choose an F&B colour. Preferably the same inside and out to keep costs down and internally we will be having a warm, earthy palette. I had thought Pointing but am now unsure. Thoughts?

I've been in this exact dilemma and here is my advice. We opted for factory painted hardwood windows and had the same colour inside and out, it was a mistake. We picked the colour for the outside to look good with the render, roof etc and it was lovely, but the same colour inside was so restricting as it meant that every paint decision had to revolve around the window colour. We should have spend the extra and had different colours. We made it work in the end but it was just so restricting.

If the outside had been all rendered a pale colour we would have opted for something like Pointing inside and out. But this is a very standout colour against your outside materials, it could look jarring. Personally I think the oak looks beautiful and that would be my first choice.

If you do choose a colour for the outside just bear in mind that your roof looks quite purple so I would avoid obvious greens as it could look quite clashy.

Stick to an oak finish. Looks more expensive and classy.

Love the colour and style of cabinets. The worktops are beautiful. The flooring is a bit wishy washy and I would prefer a chimney hood style extractor fan - even though this one is the same colour as the kitchen, to me it sticks out like a sore thumb. Personally, I like the 'working triangle' to be at the centre of the kitchen and the fridge freezer looks like an after thought, stuck on at the end, in this design.

If you enter green leather couch in Houzz pictures, you'll see lots of pictures...most will have a brown couch but lots of green in the room, so you'll be able to see different color combinations, style of rugs and pillows, etc. As above, your best bet is to select the rug, then the pillows. When adding pillows, use some solids and patterns for a nice look. Hard to provide specific suggestions without knowing your style.

I'm looking for advise on what colour to choose in my open plan kitchen/dining, living space. Ideally I'd like to have the kitchen/dining area in a different colour to the main living area. The kitchen is contemporary, white units and white worktop with metallic grey on appliances. I would like to paint the kitchen/dining walls grey but I don't want it too dark for the room and then have a paint colour for the living area that would suit/fit well with grey painted walls.
