The space looks already super nice and beautiful. Our suggestion to make it look really nice, it to first make it more tidy by find a secure and permanent place for the cables. and may be a little hanger for all the throws you have laying on the sofa. On an other hand, we thin that the rug is quiet small for the sapace as well as the tables. We would suggest to remove them and may be have a nice Beni Mrirt rug , Boujaad vintage rug or a zemmour rug in the center of the room, may be add a couple leather poufs in tan color as, it will be perfect with the colors already in there. Some nice handmade cushions like cactus silk cushions or mudcloth cushions will give a lot more warmth and pattern to the place. The sofas looks very good, if you want to add nice throws, you can consider pompom blankets to use as throws or as covers for colder days. we always look to see projects when they are finish to compare with our vision. We wish you good luck for this restyling :)
Sara, I agree with much of what the previous Houzzer has said - give the room a good tidy, clear the window ledge and tables, store all the cables out of sight and take down the yellow banner and what looks like faux ivy. Roll up all your blankets and put them in the basket you have near the log burner then place that basket away from the log burner (for safety.) Are you planning to replace the two sofas? You have various side tables of different styles and materials, would you consider replacing them with a couple of small round side tables, in oak perhaps? I’d move the cheese plant a little, away from the windows and plain Roman blinds would look good on the windows on the left.
On second thoughts I think your windows are a bit too small for individual Roman blinds. Are you not over looked, are curtains unnecessary at the window or patio doors? Can you please post some photos of the other side of the room.
I love the green plants and the double aspect light. For me I would have to have some window treatment to make the room look ’softer’ and cosier, however that would work for you from a pratical point. perhaps a roman blind on the window with the lovely deep windowsill and floor length curtains over the door. Take the pole a good way beyond the doors at either end so the curtains can be pushed right back for access and light. The rug in the middle needs to be much bigger and go under the sofa legs. Lastly, it may be practical, but the black hospital style table looks out of place in such a lovely room.
