It would be really helpful to see photos of the whole room including the headboard and the carpet in order to give more informed advice but here are my thoughts. If you’re aiming to modernise I would steer clear of pinks as, to me, along with your fabric it gives an old fashioned, romantic vibe. I think the F&B Oval Room blue is a good match as it appears in your fabric but I would only paint your 20 year old wardrobes in this colour and paint the walls in the background white of your fabric. You can either choose an off the shelf paint or take your fabric to a paint match shop. This will keep the room light and airy, the wardrobes will look modern and your new Roman blinds will really stand out.

When I first looked at your fabric I only saw the lilac pink hues, but I now see the blue. I have Oval Room Blue in my kitchen and it’s more a greeny blue, but absolutely gorgeous. I’m not familiar with the other shades, could you share a sample of the paint colours? Here’s ORB in my kitchen.

I would love to paint the cupboards but there are so many of them, I am not sure.
I am not against purple/lilac colours completely. Ideally, I would love a sage/green but not sure if this would work?

Mmm probably best to leave the wardrobes and drawers as they are. I was imagining one wall of wardrobes but yours is different. I still prefer Oval Room Blue for your walls over any pinks but there is a green in your blinds so matching that green would be fine.

Green would go beautifully. Lilac/pink and green sit well together rather like in nature. Mizzle by F&B may be a good option, but they have tons of lovely greens.
