This might sound a bit like being on the fence given the advice you've had already... How about a mid to dark grey ( less contrast than black), RAL 7022 is a favourite of mine (warmer grey), or look at a green grey, as something that will have the colour of the olive, with a good amount of contrast against the white render, (you won't have the warm rich colours of the brickwork as in the photos above (which the olive looks good against)). If you are painting the timber windows you would do well to look at microporous opaque stains to reduce your on-going maintenance. A benefit of aluclad composite windows is colour outside can be factory supplied different to the interior finish. Hope this might help. Regards, Nick

Do not paint the brick!! It's part of the homes appeal and its style. Change up the stucco color to a warm gray as well as paint the fascia boards a more appealing color also (deeper charcoal or similar) a grayed green would be another option for the stucco. As long it all works with both the roof shingle and the brick these are colors worth looking at. Another option for just the gable end would be cement board shingle (Hardieboard or similar) if you want a change from stucco.

Hi, We’re changing windows and fascias/soffets in an upcoming renovation. We’re also taking out the cement shingles on the second floor and insulating behind and replacing with horizontal cedar wood. Really liking grey windows but cannot decide what grey, anthracite or a lighter grey? Do I get matching fascias etc? Should I paint the cedar wood a colour or just stain it? Will I get longer out of it if we paint? Any advise welcome 🙏

We have a very 1980s bungalow. We are looking to update the exterior but I’m at a loss as to what will look best. Really want to plaster over the brick. The windows and sliding door definitely date the property. Should we change the windows and door (maybe add a porch)? What style windows and doors? Modern windows and add on a brick porch or sash windows with Georgian style door? Or go contemporary with dark paint and maybe some sort of wooden feature? Sorry, not very technical with the terms!! Open to all suggestions! Thanks!
