Help please on living room interior design?

Hi all. This is the plan for our new living room. It is our first home and I would love some help on choosing the right furniture for the space. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and I will have my parents visiting a lot. We are in Ireland but if you could post ideas, I'm sure i would be able to find similiar options here. Finding it hard to visualise the space and what will fit best.
The room is 3850mm by 4050mm. As you can see a door leads from the hallway and another glass door then into the kitchen.
There is a full wall between the kitchen and living room and the room is North facing.
I would love to hear any ideas or suggestions you have on what to do with the space, what colours would look good, flooring, a good furniture layout, general interior design suggestions.
