Furniture Living Rooms Home Decorating

How would you arrange furniture in this living room?

This living/diner room is semi open plan on to the kitchen. Natural light is poor. How would you arrange the living room furniture? Television, sofas, bookcase, desk, bureau, etc. Thank you

I would try to create distinct functional zones.
1. Entry & Coat Drop-Off Zone with a hallwY wardrobes and a bench.
2. Living/TV Watching Area - A semi-open divider using vertical timber slats separates the entryway from the living area. The television is mounted on the slats.
3. Dining Zone and an office/ command centre a built-in desk nook, integrates a compact workspace.

the place is due to be painted next month..would it be OK to paint all the walls white then add colour in just with accessories like rugs, plants, cushions, lamps etc or should I be painting in colours and doing feature walls etc...I've always liked a white and blue beachy type theme if this would work with this room ?

Positioning of furniture in living room, what do you think?

Hi, we're trying to figure where the furniture should go in this living room. We would like to place a three seater, two seater and the television as a starting point. There is no fireplace or other focal point in the room. You also have to walk through this room to get to the kitchen so the furniture cannot block this route. There is a deep alcove on the left of the room where we would like to put a small work station with shelves on the wall above the desktop. Would you hang the television on the long wall or put it in the corner opposite the workstation alcove? We could put a three seater under the window but where to place a two seater is a problem. We need more seating than one couch can supply. Any ideas? Thank you

For a more open-plan feel, I’d use a console table / cabinet to define the entrance area, and make use of the right-hand wall for integrated storage – ideal for coats, shoes, a dry pantry, plates, dinnerware, glassware, and more
