white floor paint

Hi there, does anyone have recommendations for quality white floor paint? We used Farrow & Ball’s oil based white eggshell floor paint years ago and it was amazing. They’ve since discontinued this for environmental reasons but the replacement is nothing like the same quality. It stains and erodes very quickly. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

just fyi and not disagreeing with Isla as I love zinsser and Little Greene but if you do go with Little Greene I’ve used zinsser 3 times both with their intelligent floor and intelligent eggshell. One eggshell was fine but the other eggshell and floor not so! i’d use their own primer . Paint & Paper may be worth a try too (owned by LG)

i dont know if this covers the floor paint but LG recently updated their intelligent paint range which is meant to cover any existing paint finish with little or no work. I’m yet to try it though!

Did you use a good primer first like Zinzzer? I used F&B Wevet floor paint years ago and it was amazing. Agree about oil based being more longwearing. Try Little Greene as they still do some lead based paints, or they did? You need some professional advice.Try Brewers.

I would guess your original paint was oil based which is much tougher than water based eggshell. I think searching for a company that still sells oil based floor paint may be the best option.

If you painted the wood skirtings (removed in photos) and door frames, in the dusky blue from the tiles then did the walls in white to bounce light around the hallway as they can be a bit dark I don't think it would look clinical because the use of the blue would add a little drama and look very up to date. Alternatively you could use a deep grey. I haven't seen this done much but when I have it has looked well.

Is it difficult to maintain . The area is 22sq mt its south east facing .. mostly east . I like the pearl white.

I'm sure they will have a better colour selection than the dreaded ronseal and all the other garage type floor paints. I think the Zinzzer primer (oil based) makes a big difference too.

Thanks so much everyone for your advice. Really appreciate it! We’re going to try the latest Little Greene Intelligent Floor paint on top of our existing floor paint and see how that works. Will let you know! Thanks again 🙏
