Kitchen Cabinet Providers

Hi I have gotten Howdens and Magnet to give me designs for kitchen I want, see attached. Wanted to ask if anyone else had a positive experience with any other providers? The kitchen isn’t big but I wanted a very traditional design. If they could make shelves out of the countertop material, I would add gallery rails and avoid all wall cabinets. Does anyone else suggest any other cabinet builders that would be economic and have provided nice traditional looking kitchens?

Everyone raves about DIY Kitchens so worth a look. Supply only so you would have to find a fitter/electrician/plumber. Look at the reviews.

The colour would depend on lots of variants. Such as what’s on the floor? how much light is there? Do you have a splash back what’s the counter top? That said would you consider painting the island a feature colour? Such as ink blue or emerald green? It would make your island a feature. Good luck

Mixing kitchen cabinet styles

We are building an extension to our house to include a larger kitchen and open plan dining and living room. In our kitchen we are having a large island (3.5 metres long). On the back wall we will have tall kitchen cabinets. We love the look of flat island units but prefer shaker style for the tall units. Can you mix styles? Would anyone like to share their opinions on this?

If you change the butler undermount sink to a top mounted sink you'd save money on worktops alone, hopefully Howdens haven't included laminate worktops with this design [or Ikea have a top mounted butler style sink suitable for laminate worktops]. Also looking at the design if thats a dishwasher to the side of the sink you need a couple of end panels either side of the sink to not only support the worktop but also so you can't see the side of the dishwasher past the sink.

Also note Howdens don't officially offer installation as they're 'trade only', Magnet do have an installation service but you pay through the nose for their installation service as Magnet take a big piece of the pie for themselves.
