downpipes - cut my stone or not?!

last month

I have the down pipes running against the wall and either need to

cut the stone cill so the downpipe can run vertically to the drain or
add a bend to the downpipe around the cill and then back again under the cill

What would you do?

That doesn’t look good at all. Pipework shouldn’t be in front of a sill like that. Could they run down the side of the end of the building into the drain? Can’t see the rest of the building so see where else they could go. Do you have clearer picture of the whole aspect?

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

That's a very good idea Christy, I actually have two white roses that are climbers but I will probably have to improvise on the trellis (link on an idea of DIY that would allow me to paint the frame purple as the edge of the flower beds http://houzz.com/s/m=7/u=L3Bob3Rvcy8yNjIwMjcz). Hi lots of different options and ideas going on. I had a similar wall and understand how mean it can be to little ones. I bought and put up the expanding wood trellis. This instantly covered the area at a very reasonable price. I then planted quick growing climbing plants. I'm not a great gardener so I cant remember what i had but ask at the garden centre they will advise you. But at least you have a barrier in place to minimize accidents.

I think it looks great so far. Many of the ads for claw foot tubs, and magazines, show them with encaustic/cement tile and plain white surround. Also, you did something creative and attractive with the tile layout. I love the nickel shine of your clawfoot legs too. If you can maybe get a corner shelf on one side of the wall, you'll have a place for soap, candle or bubble bath. And maybe hotel towel holder on another wall to get the height up. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
