Help me make over my garden!
My garden is in need of a makeover! It is not a huge space but adequate and want to give it a make over!
The slabs were put down about 6 years ago, they have been power washed loads of times but always still look diry!
We painted the fence a light stone colour which i thought would make the garden look bigger, which it does but not sure if i like it!
problem is the next door neighbours awful metal fence which is cream and brown! not sure what i can do there. We also have fencing along the wall of their extension so we don’t have a wall in our garden!
any suggestions / ideas?

Comments (36)I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! Comments (2)First and foremost we need to get you to declutter the space. Take and remove everything that you do not use on a weekly basis and store those items in the garage, pantry or closet. Once you have the room cleared you will have a better vision for what your needs really are. I would also remove the table and whatever is on the wall above it. There is a possibility you could use a smaller taller farm table as an island with a few stools that can slide underneath then add a few to the peninsula as well if you need that much seating in the space. My biggest pet peeve in kitchens is when the cabinets do not meet the ceiling. We all need as much storage space as we can get. The "display" area above cabinets is useless unless you have a fabulous collection of something to really show off. From your photo it appears you are only using it for extra storage. Perhaps you might find flush woven storage bins to use side by side for hidden storage (?) instead. Are you considering painting or staining your cabinetry and replacing counter tops? If so, you might want to consider a counter surface on the peninsula that hangs over on the side for added seating. Best of luck!...See MoreMy Before and After picture for my garden

2 months agoWondered if you might like this idea? Still get the larger garden effect of the pale colour you already have but the darker lower fence will be more grounded and the slabs shown off better. Garden furniture would also blend in against it. Other than that, lots of greenery as everyone else says.
2 months agoNice space but where are the plants? Lack of planting makes the fencing scream out Here I Am! My fencing is just a dull beige, but I have so many shrubs, trees and flowers that you can barely see the fencing. You may not be a gardener but anyone can plant some climbers like roses, clematis, climbing hydrangeas to green up those fences. Or try some shrubs like Photinia red Robin, Ceonanthus, Hibiscus, Dwarf Lilac etc. They all provide greenery and flowers at different times of the year. Some plants like sun, some like shade so put the right plant in the right place, then water every evening for several weeks, unless it rains, and they will thrive. Nothing wrong with the paving, it just needs a proper jet wash! My cousin jet washed my sandstone patio and it looked almost like new. He was out there for hours. Now I know it’s different as I love plants so I cram them in everywhere, but does my fencing matter anymore?
