Huge dead space above spiral staircase

This is a huge dead space in a tiny house so I was wondering if I could add some clever storage, or at least some shelves to run along it. Although with reachable shelves there will still be tons of dead space left above, the well is 2 floors high 🙈.
Thought of a statement hanging light too, but it would be off centre. I am very confused... Has anyone got any ideas please? X

It's a standard flat light fitting - can't an't really replace with anything dangling as we'd be hitting our heads. Love the idea of mirrors art! Thought about it myself but would love to still include some form of storage ..

I concur with the above comment: Just have archways installed rather than doors - not only will it be more open but it will be less costly... ...tho to open the living room even more, consider relocating the LR fireplace to the opposite wall and centering a larger archway to the hall opposite it - where the fireplace is located now. I might also consider installing an archway or doorway to the left of the fireplace in the sitting room - It will make your sitting room less of a dead end and passage to your study, kitchen and powder room more direct.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi Marie. It's difficult to tell how wide the room is but a round table could work at the foot of the stairs. Dress with a large bowl and plants/flowers etc. you could also try hanging 3 chandeliers or pendants down the hall. I would also have either 2 matching consoles opposite each other by the front door or keep your existing and add some seating opposite to create symmetry. I think if you were to dress the console with bigger items it would stand out more ie ginger jars on the bottom shelf, classic urns, plants etc on the top. Once you've got the basics done and budget permits, you can add further floor standing decorative pieces, a small chair etc. I think you definitely need some tall art by the front door though or even mirrors if you're not keen to add art

I love the cabin in the woods, its a intimate setting where you are drawn to the outside whilst keeping snug indoors. The use of fabrics sets it apart from the usual cold designs of other modern rooms. The attention detail in the selection of furniture pieces keeps it modern yet functional.

Breaking up the space is a great idea, it will be wasted otherwise. I'm sure you could have open shelves on brackets at least at a reachable height. Is it a solid wall or plasterboard? I cannot see from your pic what the curved items are above the handrail? If the wall is solid you could probably hang wall cupboards (as in kitchen wall style) just above the handrail which could give you useful storage. A gallery wall with black frames could also look fantastic.

Isla, oh love the gallery idea! Might have shelves and mirrors on one wall, and gallery wall on the other side. No idea if its plaster board or not tbh, we didn't get our key yet
