Masonry paint primer

my landlord recently did some painting for me, he used masonry primer, it has dripped onto slate below, I can’t get it off, Ive tried white spirit, any advice would be,greatly appreciated

Garden design on line thanks for your graphics we have a similar deck structure to the side of the house- its more protection from the elements we need at the front of the house. Dyctecture i had considered a floating canopy but couldn't visualise how it would look- thanks for the mock up. But I do need more shelter as we live in the west coast of Ireland and the weather here can be pretty wet and windy!! This is the main access to the house and on a wet day the entrance hall can get very wet. Gildaville, I like the idea of following the existing triangle shape but definately need a roof- i just can't visualise how it would look and what material it can be constructed from. I really appreciate your replies.

Actually I managed to find a stockist of chalk paint which is fantastic as it needs no sanding, no primer just straight on to the marble, and made a start on it tonight, I didn't think to take a picture before hand, but I will post a pic after :-)

Do I need to sand walls before painting

I'm painting a room a new colour and wondering if I have to sand the entire wall before the undercoat/primer and coats. I've watched videos which talk about the need to fill holes and then sand the wall. Does sanding the wall only refer to the areas around where the filler was used, or do you have to sand the whole wall regardless. Wall has no holes and was previously painted. Can I just go straight to prime and paint?

Hello everyone, I want to change my dark walls ( inchyra blue from F&B) to a brighter colour from them. I bought the paint yesterday and the primes, the store was closing so everyone was in a rush and I just realised at home that the staff sold me a wood primer instead of a wall primer and they don't do refunds. The paint has 7%, I Don't know about the primer as I didn't open it. Can I still primer with wood primer or it's not recommended? I called them and they said that if the wall its not flakey I shouldn't prime the wall, but my wall is dark and I'll paint it brighter.Hope that makes sense?Thank you
