Bedroom Curtains

Bedroom painted a pinkish shade of white with the wall surrounding fireplace painted pink as an “accent feature “. Any ideas for the curtains? Furniture is brown and carpet a neutral beige/cream colour.

Your window is a main accent. And you need to make a start from its. I recommend you to do the follow: - open your window as much as possible. This will make the room larger; - decorate the window by asymmetrical or direct curtain (examples are below), starting right from the ceiling. It is best to use a solid color textile; - if your cabinet is not particularly necessary, I would have replaced it on the floor lamp; - on the other side, you can fold the high stack of books and use them as a decorative stand; - make a picture in passe-partout with glass and dark gray baguette frame. Add to it a vertical series of small monochrome photographs (eg sepia), and also complete passe-partout in pastel tones; - fur pillows should be replaced by textile pillows with dark gray graphic pattern; - it will be better the other pictures on the walls to remove

Hi. I'm not that keen on the paper with the rest of the room, it doesn't look bad at all but it doesn't look stunning either imo. Everything else looks to be more of a greige? I'd look at the same paper in truffle, sable, dark linen or even the pewter may work ( hard to tell colours on screen so would get samples of all!). I agree with the others, would go for plain bed linen and add pattern in cushions and/ or throw. It looks as if a chalk pink would work best with the greige. Maybe a chalky white for the remaining furniture. You could also break up the window ŵall by adding a trim and maybe Pom poms to the bottom of the blind. A little antique gold for accessories, lights etc would also work well.

Thanks Patricia - I like the lemon. Would navy work do you think? I really don't want the room becoming too - pastel or feminine. As for furniture -literally the bed is all in the room and the bedside tables. A walk in robe is adjacent so any other furniture can be added for fun as opposed to function. I may add a window seat

Your bed is beautiful, rather than using colour, why not keep the existing curtains and enhance them and the bed by adding texture in the same neutral palette, perhaps adding texture through a grass cloth type wallpaper, which is not that overpowering could be used on all the walls, adding a rug, and one or two big fluffy cushions and a throw. Further down the line I would balance the size of the bed with as big a locker I could fit either side of the bed, and a bench/ottoman at the end. Good luck, it looks like a lovely space!
