Living room extension- tile matching dilemma

We initiated an expansion of our living room, but halfway through the project, the contractor informed us that they couldn't locate a matching tile for the rest of the space. Despite our efforts to find a similar tile elsewhere, we've had no luck. Having a different tile would look awkward. The contractor is suggesting removing all the existing tile, which would impact our budget and leave us without a living room for an extended period. Are there any alternative solutions you can recommend?

I wouldn't want different flooring in the same room.

One floor throughout would be the best solution, but you know that. Have you thought about something other than tiles instead? Modern laminate is really good and possibly cheaper than tiles, or maybe LVT, but that can be pricey. Laminate could be laid on top of the tiles, but you will need to board the untiled bit to match the two levels. I have laminate in my living room and it still looks pretty good after 12 years. It was from Topps Tiles and cost about £9 a sq metre back then. First pic is mine.

Just a quick note to thank you all for sharing your thought, ideas, experience and time. It may not be perfect or according to the the "Rules", but it is Me and my family. Each and every piece was chosen by me in different parts of the world and each one of them has a unique story behind. I am very pleased with my space. I love it! I am very blessed. .... and so I am off to my new project now... Back to school.... that's really going to be hard ;) Thank you all, once again.

The trim in your rooms is outstanding. To "tie the rooms together", the one thing I would do is install chair rail the same color as the existing trim. The horizontal lines of chair rail will move the eye around the room and into the next room creating a flow. Chair rail is relatively inexpensive, easy to install and would be wonderful compliment to your existing beautiful trim.

I spoke to a rep in the UK who confirmed the tiles are still current, but not available in UK or Ireland. I'll continue to try & speak to the manufacturer & hopefully it will come to a happy ending. I know I won't be 100% happy with anything else.
