DESIGN HELP FOR ENTRANCE/BOOT ROOM

Hi,
We are looking for help creating a contemporary entrance/boot room design.
It will house coats, bags and shoes. We like the idea of a U or L-shaped bench with shoe storage underneath. It will also need plenty of space for coats and bags. We have a baby and toddler so we will need the space to accommodate their growing wardrobes as they get older and attend school. I love the idea of cladding but don't want it to look traditional.
The first photo below would be a great starting point for the style we want to achieve.
Any photos or real examples would be highly appreciated!
