We have a large heavy concrete fountain that is going on a grassy area.
We have a large slab and have dug out a 6" deep hole to create a base that the slab will sit on ( and that the fountain will go on). The fountain base is only 12/14" D maybe but the slab is much bigger.
Problem is that every site and diy person we ask advises on different ratios of sand and cement and stones so we have no clue what to do!
It's only about 6' high this fountain and doesn't hold much water but is weighty. It's been on grass so far but has sunk slightly (hence moving it to a firmer base).
What ratio should we use? The builders yard said one bag of stones to 3 sand should be fine with the cement but I've read on other site that we need more stones! 😱
Help!
Thanks
