North-east facing house - paint colour suggestions?

Hi,

I'm looking at painting this exterior of this house (brick, render and timber windows.) it was built in 1905.

I think Pure brilliant white looks too cold especially next to Neighbours on left. I really think theirs looks nice but I don't know what paint colours would look right next to them and I don't know if I should ask them for what paint colours they used lol!

Considering Little Greene Slaked lime for render/brick and Slaked lime deep for woodwork/windows. The price is a bit high though.

Dulux trade weathershield would be nice to save costs and I have heard colour matching isn't that great so I was thinking their warm Jasmine white for the masonry and either fossil hunting or crispy crumble or nutmeg white for the woodwork/windows.

Any thoughts / opinions / suggestions?

It might be worth looking at these colour matches on the link. I used Johnstones to colour match my exterior to F&B mainly as the existing paint was F&B which I wasn’t happy with but it does save a lot of money!

I do like next doors but just wondering if it loses some of the architectural details all in one colour?

Lovely property - amazing windows! Won't comment on colours (that is really a personal preference, and we can't really see the colours of the neighbouring property behind the tree) - but getting Dulux or an equivalent paint colour matched is well worth doing. Most of our local decorators would do this for LG and particularly F&B shades, as the coverage is better, as (often) is longevity especially for external surfaces. We've only once had an issue with colour matching, and our supplier put that right (at their cost).

I have some suggestions, but none are cream tone. IMO, North facing rooms, because there is so little sunlight, need warmth which most light colors do not give for the chilly North room. BM Leapfrog accented with Asian blue and whites; BM Goldtone accented with cream and a painted blue ceiling; BM Slip accented with white and a really dark green velvet fabric.

@minnie101 Thanks for that link! According to this, the closest to slaked lime and slaked lime deep are Alabaster white and Egyptian cotton. I think we might try these as we already have used Egyptian cotton inside the house it might be nice to match.

I feel like the architectural details stand out pretty well with the neighbors, maybe bc they have used good greige / taupish colour on the woodwork and warm white on masonry.

Sorry, i think your details stand out but the neighbours details are a little lost although it looks really nice? Was just wondering if you’d consider painting the black bits on yours a slightly darker shade like SL dark or serpentine? Just a thought anyway, what does the rest of the street look like?

Good luck anyway, i went through so many testers for mine! i’d probably paint the red bit white so you can easily test next to the neighbour. Colours are also a couple of shades lighter outside and it may look different on the brick versus the render

Thanks. Oo I really like the look of serpentine. It's a bit dark but maybe would be nice for the trim like you mentioned. Thanks. Maybe this is a better pic. I prefer the neighbours fascia and I think we will go for the dentil one as well. The rest of the road doesn't have the original windows for the most part, they also have gone for variations of cream. One warm grey house with a green door, one navy blue on the bottom with grey windows.

What a beautiful house. Johnstones " Cotton tail" is said to be a very close shade to Slaked Lime (the lightest shade). I am currently painting inside using slaked lime (light) on the walls and skirtings and the dark ( not darkest shade) on doors and architraves. They are beautiful colours. Do remember that colours will look two shades lighter when used outside though if your house is NE facing this might be less.
