Living room....

Long(ish) living room, with lots of functions. Relaxing, drying laundry, working from home occasionally, homework, jigsaws, crafting, music.
Piano must stay.
Fireplace end, is more or less sorted, but we will replace the existing electric fire with an insert stove in due course.
At the other end, I feel the open bookcase doesn't work - and isn't big enough to hold all that needs to be kept here. I am wondering if I should change the circular table for a square one - we need the table for homework, jigsaws, wfh, occasional crafting. The piano and guitars need to dray, the drying laundry is temporary lol!
Any ideas that would help us get better use out of this room would be greatly appreciated x.

    I think the problem is lack of decent storage. If budget allows a wall unit with a mixture of open shelving and doors on cupboards will mean you can display the nice stuff (including books and CDs!) and shut out of view the stuff you need but don’t want to see. Get rid of, or move elsewhere, the bookcase and the glass unit. Can the drying washing go into another room? I dry mine in a spare bedroom.

    The grey units below are from IKEA and are in sections so you can add as much or as little as you need.
